AI-Powered Mental Health Monitoring System for Students
This is a web-based, non-clinical student support system. It does not diagnose mental health conditions and should not replace professional care.
Policy version
2026.04
Anonymity default
Counselor views are anonymized by default.
Consent
Participation is voluntary. Your responses are used to support your wellbeing and do not replace professional care. Data is kept anonymous for counselor views unless you request support, approve identity reveal, or a documented emergency override is required for safety.
Students can give consent, withdraw it later, and see the policy before responding to reveal requests.
Data usage
- Check-ins and questionnaires are used for supportive summaries, dashboards, and counselor monitoring.
- Academic calendar periods adjust support wording and recommendations.
- Flask ML predictions are stored alongside Laravel fallback output for non-clinical support messaging.
- Audit logs record key privacy, consent, reveal, and safety actions.
Identity reveal rules
Identity remains hidden unless the student accepts a reveal request or a documented emergency override is approved under the published privacy policy.
- Counselors can request identity reveal when concerned and must give a reason.
- Students can accept or decline reveal requests inside the dashboard.
- Accepted requests allow counselors to view identity-linked summaries, patterns, and questionnaire history.
Emergency override
Emergency override is limited to credible safety concerns, requires a written reason, and is written to the audit log.
- Override is limited to documented high-risk alerts or urgent help requests.
- The system records who overrode anonymity, when, and why.
- Override is a safety measure, not a routine counselor shortcut.
Pending validation
- Support message wording and crisis language should be reviewed by a legitimate mental health professional.
- Reveal and emergency override policy should be checked against your institution’s ethics guidance.
- Questionnaire interpretation wording should be validated before final panel defense.
